General Questions

Does Flushmaster come with hoses?

All Flushmaster orders come with (1) hose for each outlet in the length of hose you select when purchasing. Choose from 5ft, 7ft, 9ft, 12ft, 15ft, or 20ft hose. If you order a 2-outlet Flushmaster it comes with (2) hoses. If you order a 4-outlet Flushmaster it comes with (4) hoses.

Note: You only need to order extra hose if you need more length or to replace a hose.

What length hose do I need?

This depends on your setup. If you trailer your boat, shorter hoses may suffice. If mounted on a dock, you may need longer hoses. For portable use, shorter hoses may be sufficient. Consider the distance from each outboard to the Flushmaster.

Can I attach my garden hose?

Yes! All Flushmaster fittings are compatible with standard garden size hoses.

Why are there 2 female side quick connects in the Yamaha and Honda kits?

There are (2) female quick connectors in your Yamaha or Honda kit because (1) will live on the outboard connected to the male side, permanently. The other will be attached to your hose.

Usage Questions

Does Flushmaster split the water between motors?

No! Flushmaster sequentially sends water through each outlet one at a time. Each outlet is numbered and programmed to flush for the set amount of time before moving to the next.

Can I run the engine while using Flushmaster?

No! Using the flush port/plug on your outboard does not require running the engine while flushing. Running the engine while flushing can lead to damage.

Can I use a salt away, or similar, solution with Flushmaster?

Yes. Attach the solution applicators to the end of the hose that connects to the outboard motor. Each outboard will then receive the solution. Ensure an individual applicator is used for each line.

Do I need to do anything once I press start?

No! Press start and walk away. Flushmaster will block the water flow upon completion.

How do the hoses connect?

The hoses connect to the Flushmaster device through the male barbs attached to the device outlets. Clamps and male barbs are included for both ends of the hoses.

What is the power source for Flushmaster?

Troubleshooting

Water is coming out of my Mercury quick connect cap when the engine is running, why?

Water coming out of your Mercury quick connect cap indicates debris or an issue with your check valve. The OEM flush plug cap's inverted design makes it hard to see water discharge, as the water exits through recessed holes. Our Mercury cap, also designed a hole, extends outward from the engine, providing a clearer visual cue of check valve failure. This makes it easier to notice water coming out of the hole compared to the OEM cap, giving you a chance to address it before it becomes a problem.Watch this video for more info
