Coiled Washdown Hose? The Connection Is Included.

A coiled washdown hose has a female threaded end. The Female Quick Connect Adapter also has a female threaded hose connection. The included nylon male-to-male fitting joins them.

1. Thread the nylon fitting into the hose.
With water off, connect one male end to the hose’s female end.

2. Add the Female Quick Connect Adapter.
Thread it onto the other end of the nylon fitting.

3. Connect at the spigot.
Connect the adapter to the spigot, then open the quarter-turn valve when ready to rinse.

Close the valve and relieve hose pressure before disconnecting. Check compatible threads and sealing washers before assembly.

Universal Quick Connect: standard store-bought hose quick-connect adapters also work. The included Flushmaster adapter uses a 316 stainless steel internal spring for corrosion resistance in saltwater environments.

Adapter and nylon fitting included. Hose and nozzle sold separately.

Installation & Fitment

Select an accessible interior mounting surface with clearance for the valve and connected hose. Check the area behind the panel for plumbing access before drilling or removing an existing fitting.

Match the supply hose’s inside diameter to the installed 3/4″ barb or the included 1/2″ barb. Fit the molded gasket between the baseplate and mounting surface. Select marine fasteners, clamps and sealant to suit your boat.

Shut off and depressurize the water system before working on the connection. After installation, test for leaks and check hose routing. We recommend a qualified marine technician for plumbing and mounting work.

Opening size, screw spacing, panel thickness and clearances vary. Confirm the fitting’s dimensions with Flushmaster before cutting a new opening. Hose, clamps, fasteners and sealant are not listed as included.

Compatibility

For compatible onboard washdown plumbing. Choose by mounting space, hose direction and supply-hose size, rather than engine brand or engine count.

The supplied nylon male-to-male fitting connects a compatible washdown hose’s female threaded end to the female threaded side of the included Quick Connect Adapter. The adapter then connects to the spigot’s male tip.

Check the hose-end thread fit and sealing washer before assembly. The spigot controls water from the system it is plumbed to; it does not provide a pump, tank or automatic engine-flushing function.

Water Spigot Questions, Answered

Can I use a store-bought quick-connect adapter?

Yes. The Water Spigots have a universal connection that works with standard store-bought hose quick-connect adapters.

The Flushmaster difference is inside: our included Female Quick Connect Adapter uses a 316 stainless steel spring for corrosion resistance in saltwater environments.

What’s the difference between the 45° and 90° spigots?

The outlet geometry differs. Both have the same quarter-turn valve function and included connection accessories. Choose the angle that gives your hose a clear route and leaves enough space to operate the valve. Check front and rear clearance before installing.

Why is a nylon male-to-male fitting included?

A typical coiled washdown hose has a female threaded end, and the Female Quick Connect Adapter also has a female threaded hose connection. The included nylon fitting supplies the male threads needed to join them. Check compatibility with your hose before assembly.

Do I need to buy a Female Quick Connect Adapter separately?

No. One Female Quick Connect Adapter and one nylon male-to-male fitting come with each spigot. Extra female adapters are optional if you want to keep additional compatible hoses ready to connect; additional hoses may also need their own threaded fitting.

Which barb comes installed, and is the washdown hose included?

The 3/4″ barb comes installed, and a 1/2″ barb is included. Match the barb to your supply hose’s inside diameter. A washdown hose, spray nozzle and boat-specific installation supplies are not included.

Will it fit my boat’s existing spigot opening?

Fit varies by vessel. Check the mounting opening, three-hole screw spacing, panel thickness and clearance on both sides. The water supply and hose routing must also suit the fitting. Contact Flushmaster or your marine technician to confirm fit before cutting or modifying the boat.
