Flushmaster FAQs
Clear answers to common buying, compatibility and ownership questions. For model-specific details, use the product page and its installation guide.
Do I need Quick Connects, a Reroute and Water Inlets?
The Flushmaster Controller works with all three connection options: Flush Port Quick Connects at the engine, a Flush Port Reroute that moves the connections inside the boat, or a solid 316 stainless steel Water Inlet for a premium replacement or quick-connect option. Choose the connection that serves your setup; you do not need all three for the same engine route.
Choosing the right products
Do I need the whole system?
No. Start with the job you want to simplify. A Controller handles timing, a Flush Port Quick Connect improves a compatible connection at the engine, and a Reroute moves the hookup to an accessible location. You can use connection upgrades for manual flushing and add a Controller later. Build Your System helps you choose a starting point.
Are Quick Connects required with a Controller?
Not in every setup. The required connection depends on the engine flush port or existing onboard inlet. Check the Controller package and the connection product’s included-parts list. Quick Connects are a convenience upgrade for compatible connections, not a universal requirement for every Controller installation.
Which Controller should I choose?
The 2-Outlet Controller supports one or two engines. The 4-Outlet Controller supports up to four. Both sequence the connected engines one at a time. Choose hose length by measuring the actual route from the Controller to each connection. Compare the Controller packages for options and included parts.
How many Quick Connect kits do I need?
Choose one appropriate kit for each engine connection you are upgrading. Confirm the engine model, year and flush-port style on the brand-specific product page. Check the included hose-side adapters before adding spares.
What is the difference between a Reroute and a Water Inlet?
A Flush Port Reroute moves engine flush connections inside the boat using a plate and a separate hose route for each engine. A Water Inlet is a premium direct replacement or quick-connect option made from solid 316 stainless steel. Confirm the mounting and plumbing for your application.
Both work with a Flushmaster Controller for automatic timing. Flush Port Quick Connects work with the Controller too; they connect at the engine.
Compatibility and installation
Does my engine brand guarantee fit?
No. Models and flush-port designs vary. Check the product’s compatibility guidance and your exact connection. For Mercury, use the Mercury compatibility reference. If you are unsure, contact us with the engine model, year and a clear photo of the flush port.
Can I fit a Reroute myself?
Installation requires checking the plate location, hose route, engine connection and model-specific safeguards. Read the Reroute installation guide before buying installation parts or cutting hose. Use a qualified marine technician when you cannot confirm the required installation details.
What do Mercury V10 owners need for a Reroute?
Mercury V10: required part 8M0192180. This Mercury male fitting connects to the engine cooling system. You cannot complete a Mercury V10 Reroute installation without it. It is not included with the Reroute plate or Reroute Install Kit. Source it separately through a Mercury parts supplier before installation.
Does the Water Inlet fit every existing inlet?
No. Compare flange size, mounting opening, screw spacing, hose size and rear clearance. Confirm the application with your installer. See the Water Inlet specifications and fit checks. The inlet is not an on/off valve.
Using and maintaining your setup
How long should I flush, and should the engine be running?
Follow the owner’s manual for your exact engine. Duration, engine position and running-state instructions depend on the model and flushing method. A shorter hose hookup does not mean a shorter flushing cycle.
Does the Controller increase water pressure?
No. It manages the flow from your water supply and sequences one outlet at a time. It is not a pump. Confirm that the supply meets the engine manufacturer’s requirements.
What should I do if a connection leaks?
Stop the water supply and inspect the connection before continuing. Confirm the correct fitting, full engagement, seal condition and hose routing using the product instructions. Do not force the connection or assume that more tightening will solve the problem. If it still leaks, send our team a photo and your product details.
Where do I find replacement parts?
Accessories & Parts includes replacement hoses, adapters, caps and other service items. Match the part and quantity to your existing setup, and check the original product’s included-parts list before ordering.
Orders, returns and warranty
Where can I check shipping, returns or warranty coverage?
Read the current shipping policy, return policy and warranty for their terms. For help with a specific order, contact us with your order number. Do not send products back before confirming the return instructions.
Still have a setup question?
Tell us your engine model, year and what you want to improve. A photo of the connection helps.
